Pacer Deepak Chahar suffers hamstring injury, doubtful for T20I series against Sri Lanka

Deepak Chahar, who picked up the hamstring injury during the final T20I against the West Indies on Sunday, may miss the upcoming 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, starting February 24.
India seamer Deepak Chahar pulled his right hamstring during the third T20 International against West Indies and was rendered doubtful for the Sri Lanka series, starting Thursday. Chahar, who was in fine rhythm and got two early wickets, was seen hobbling up in his run-up in the last delivery of his second over and limping off the field.
Chahar looked in some pain as he was helped off the field during India's 17-run win in the 3rd T20I against the West Indies in Kolkata on Sunday.
The extent of damage to Deepak Chahar's hamstring is being ascertained, according to the Press Trust of India.
In case it's a tear, Chahar could also be a doubtful starter for the IPL where Chennai Super Kings forked out a massive Rs 14 crore at the auction to retain his services, the news agency added.
Usually, a grade one tear takes six weeks for complete recovery and rehabilitation.
As of now, he is certainly a doubtful starter for the three-match T20 International series against Sri Lanka, starting February 24 in Lucknow.
India will play the final 2 T20Is on Saturday and Sunday before the start of the 2-Test series in the first week of March. The 10-team IPL 2022 is likely to start in the last week of March.
