Overall death figures surge in Bengaluru, rest of Karnataka during Covid-19

While Bengaluru Urban recorded 15,445 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, as per a report by the Department of Health and Family Welfare in Karnataka, the Chief Registrar of Births and Deaths, Government Of Karnataka, mentioned that 1,36,051 people have died from all causes in Bengaluru Urban between January 1 and June 19 this year.

Bengaluru Urban, which became the biggest Covid-19 hotpot in India during the second wave, recorded 15,445 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. According to the Chief Registrar of Births and Deaths, Government Of Karnataka, 1,36,051 people died from all causes in Bengaluru Urban between January 1 and June 19 this year. A comparison of data of deaths for Bengaluru Urban shows a very high number of overall deaths during Covid-19, while the pandemic itself not accounting for a far greater share in overall mortality.
