A total of 3.8 kg of gold concealed in a coffee flask, footwear and also in hair clutches worth Rs.152 crore was seized at Mumbai airport. One Kenyan woman has been held.
The customs department at Mumbai airport intercepted a number of passengers who had ingeniously concealed gold and seized 3.8 kg of the yellow metal valued at Rs 1.52 crore from them. The gold was found hidden in a coffee flask, footwear and also in hair clutchers.
One gold bar was hidden inside the eatables, whereas some gold in a wire form was also found sewed in undergarment linings.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
