
Over 3,100 fire safety awareness programmes conducted under 99-day action plan in Telangana

Telangana conducts over 3,100 fire safety awareness programmes, enhancing public preparedness and emergency response in educational institutions and hospitals.
The Telangana Fire, Disaster Response, Emergency and Civil Defence Department has conducted over 3,100 awareness programmes across educational institutions and hospitals as part of the State government’s ongoing 99-day action plan.
According to officials, 1,432 programmes were held in educational institutions between March 6 and March 19, reaching 2,03,171 students and staff. Moreover, 1,703 programmes were conducted in hospitals from March 20 to April 6, covering 41,531 participants.
The initiative includes mock drills, awareness campaigns and fire safety inspections being carried out across the State to strengthen preparedness and public awareness.
Vikram Singh Mann, Director General of the department, said the drives are being conducted intensively across Telangana and will continue until the conclusion of the 99-day action plan.
He urged all sections of the society to actively participate in fire safety awareness programmes and emphasised the importance of maintaining fire-fighting systems in proper working condition. He added that strict action would be taken in cases where lapses are identified.
Officials said the department aims to improve fire prevention measures and ensure better emergency response readiness through sustained public engagement and inspections.
