India Today
There are still over 25,000 villages in India that do not have mobile and internet coverage, the Centre said in response to a question in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
India may be one of the largest markets for telecom and broadband, but there are still over 25,000 inhabited villages without mobile and internet coverage. These villages, however, also include those affected by Left-Wing Extremism (LWE).
The latest information comes as part of the government's reply in the Lok Sabha, wherein the Centre admitted that as per the data provided by telecom service providers, out of an estimated 5.97 lakh villages, 25,067 did not have cellular or internet services.
