Over 25,000 compliances reduced but more needed for ease of living and doing business

The government has reduced over 25,000 compliances, yet more are needed for ease of living and doing business.
On the 15th of August, the government without much fanfare achieved a milestone in reducing the pain experienced by citizens and businesses in following the red tape and corruption-ridden rules and regulations- from getting a ration card to using it to setting up a business and operating it. In government parlance, the Phase II of compliance reduction through evaluation of thousands of regulations in terms of time and cost burden both on ordinary citizens and businesses ended on that day. This included repealing/subsuming redundant Acts/Rules, decriminalisation of minor offences, and use of new-age technologies to reduce what is notoriously called the compliance burden.More Related News
