Shardul Thakur came up with a counter-attacking masterclass on Thursday as he helped India inch towards a respectable first innings total on Day 1 of the 4th Test against England at the Oval. Shardul hit 57 from just 36 balls as he stitched a 63-run stand in just 48 balls with tail-ender Umesh Yadav after India's big guns failed to come to the party in London. Shardul Thakur got to his fifty with his 3rd six, pulling Chris Woakes to the mid-wicket stands. Thakur celebrated his 2nd Test with a lot of swagger as he waved his bat to the dressing room which stood up to applaud the brave effort from the all-rounder.
