On this day in history, June 27, 1985, the iconic Route 66 was decertified. The iconic highway ran through eight U.S. states and sections of it can still be driven today.
Route 66 stretched through eight states, with its beginnings traced to the 19th century. Erica Lamberg is a contributing writer for Fox News Digital.
Those states are Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.
