Omicron found in 55% samples of Covid patients in Mumbai, Delta in 13%: BMC survey

According to a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) survey, Omicron was found in 55 per cent of samples of Covid-19 patients in Mumbai, while Delta was detected in 13 per cent.

Fifty-five percent of the samples sent to the Kasturba Laboratory for genome sequencing were diagnosed with the new Omicron variant, revealed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's seventh whole genomic surveillance report.

The report also stated that nearly 32 per cent of samples were diagnosed as 'Delta' derivatives and 13 per cent of samples were diagnosed as 'Delta' variants.
