"Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe," the statement said. "We pray for a fast and full recovery."
Former President Barack Obama on Sunday wished former President Joe Biden well after news of his cancer diagnosis broke.
“Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family,” Obama said in a social media post about his former vice president, who served in the White House with him from 2009–2017.
“Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery,” Obama’s post continued.
The Obamas joined former Vice President Kamala Harris and President Donald Trump, who also publicly sent their regards to Biden in joint statements with their spouses.
Biden’s office announced earlier on Sunday that the 82-year-old was diagnosed with prostate cancer with a “Gleason score of 9” on Friday.
