No transaction with NSO Group, says defence ministry in Parliament amid Pegasus controversy

In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, the defence ministry stated that it had not made any transaction with Israel-based NSO Group Technologies. The controversial Pegasus spyware is an NSO Group product.

The Ministry of Defence has informed Parliament that it has not carried out any transaction with Israel-based company NSO Group Technologies. The controversial Pegasus spyware is a product of this company. In a written reply to a question from Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament V Sivadasan of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Minister of State (Defence) Ajay Bhatt stated on Monday, “Ministry of Defence has not had any transaction with NSO Group Technologies.”
