No power tariff hike, slabs remain unchanged in Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) on Thursday announced keeping the power tariff unchanged for the 2021-22 fiscal year.

The Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) on Thursday announced that electricity rates will remain unchanged from last year. The current tariffs will be in place for all consumer categories in 2021-22. The Commission also rejected Power Corporation's application to modify the slabs of categories and raise rates by 10-12 per cent based on regulatory assets. The upcoming assembly elections are also likely to have played a role in the decision not to boost interest rates.
