NIA interrogated Sameer Hingora, Salim Fruit and Suhail Khandwani - all associates of Dawood Ibrahim-during raids on Dawood Ibrahim's associates in Mumbai and Thane.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday interrogated Sameer Hingora, Salim Fruit and Suhail Khandwani - all associates of Dawood Ibrahim-as part of its probe into the terror case against the underworld don.
In a major crackdown on the D-Company, the NIA conducted multiple raids on associates of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim across 20 locations in Mumbai and nearby areas.
The first associate to be picked up by NIA was Salim Qureshi alias Salim Fruit, a relative of Dawood Ibrahim's aide Chota Shakeel. Salim was picked up from his residence near Grant Road in the morning by NIA officials and then taken for questioning.
Various other places were raided by NIA including the residence of Suhail Khandwani, who is the trustee of Mahim Dargah and Haji Ali Dargah. He was taken to his office and was questioned for several hours.
Similarly, four other persons were taken by NIA officials to the NIA office in South Mumbai and were questioned as part of its probe into a case pertaining to the involvement of top leadership and operatives of D-Company, in terror activities, organised crime and acts aimed at creating unrest in India.

Producer Sameer Hingora, who was accused of transporting weapons to actor Sanjay Dutt, was also picked up by NIA officials and taken for questioning. The raids by NIA went on till evening.
