Zohran Mamdani has maintained a solid lead in the polls, but former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is hoping for a comeback.
New York City residents will decide on their next mayor Tuesday, capping a contentious race solidly led by Democrat Zohran Mamdani.
Mamdani faces his toughest challenge from former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is running as an Independent in an attempt at a political comeback after losing the Democratic primary to Mamdani. The two have faced off in several debates ahead of the election, along with Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.
New Yorkers have already smashed records for early voting for a non-presidential election this year, with more than 735,000 people showing up early to cast their ballots.
