New England white-ball coach Matthew Mott says he is on the same page with Eoin Morgan

Matthew Mott helped Australia Women clinch two consecutive ICC T20 World Cups and reclaim ICC ODI World Cup. He also helped them win 26 ODIs, a record across the men's and women's games.
New England white-ball coach Matthew Mott stated he and captain Eoin Morgan are "very aligned" in their general philosophy as the reason behind leaving the job of Australia women's team head coach for the role with arch-rivals' men's side.
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) signed a four-year agreement with Mott earlier this month. He is expected to be in place for England's three-match ODI series against the Netherlands in Amsterdam next month.
"We (Morgan and I) seem very aligned on our general philosophy and how we think the team should play, but it'll be nice just having the opportunity in the playing group to talk a little bit more to that, and answer any questions, and just develop that connection," Mott told cricket.com.au.
"The team's functioning quite well, it's just about how we get those incremental gains, because that sustained success is what England's craving. They're pretty comfortable that they've got a good team and good depth but trying to compete in every tournament is what they want to do. Hopefully, the experiences I've had with what we've done (with Australia) might be able to just add another layer to that."
The ECB's selection panel of Chief Executive Officer Tom Harrison, Managing Director of England's Men's Cricket Rob Key, Strategic Adviser Andrew Strauss and Performance Director Mo Bobat unanimously agreed that Mott was the standout candidate for the role during the competitive interview process.
Under Mott's leadership, Australia women have won consecutive ICC T20 World Cups (2018 and 2020) and ICC Women's 50-over World Cup 2022. Mott also helped Australia win 26 consecutive One-Day Internationals, a record across the men's and women's games, and remain undefeated in four Ashes series.
Mott, who became Australia women's coach in 2015, had also worked as head coach of New South Wales and lead them to victory in the Champions League T20 tournament in 2009. He also worked as a consultant for Ireland during the 2015 ICC Men's World Cup.
