Nathan Lyon not fussed about his position in all-time Test wicket-takers' list - It has always been about the team

SL vs AUS: Nathan Lyon picked up nine wickets in the opening Test in Galle and is currently 10th in the list of all-time wicket-takers in Test cricket.
Australian spinner Nathan Lyon said that he is not overly fussed about his position in the list of all-time wicket-takers in Test cricket. The 34-year-old Lyon, recently, jumped from 13th to 10th after he picked up nine wickets in Australia's opening Test against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Stadium.
If he picks up seven more wickets, he will be second in the list of all-time Test wicket-takers among off-spinners after Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan.
But for the time being, Lyon said that he is more focussed on contributing to the well-being of his national team rather than focussing on personal milestones.
"I'm not really sure where I stand on the (all-time wicket-taking) list ... (but) the top end of the wicket takers, there's some amazing names there," Lyon was quoted as saying.
"For me it's always been about the team ... it's something I'm proud of but will look at in more depth at the end of my career. But that's a long way off," Lyon added.
Australia's assistant coach Daniel Vettori also heaped praise on Lyon for showing a whole lot of consistency in the purest format of the game.
"You could see that skill level straight away. There are very few bowlers who are able to be consistent with that amount of top spin and revolutions. It's a really tricky thing to do," Vettori said.
