
Naga peace agreement not far: Governor Jagdish Mukhi

Addressing the inaugural function of the 10-day-long Hornbill Festival of Nagaland at Kisama, Governor Jagdish Mukhi said that the signing of peace agreement on the Naga political issue is not very far.
Nagaland Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi on Wednesday said that the signing of the much-awaited peace agreement on the Naga political issue between the Centre and the Naga negotiators is not very far.
“The Centre and the state government are working together to bring lasting peace to the land. The day is not very far for signing the much-awaited peace agreement with Naga rebel groups,” said Mukhi while addressing the inaugural function of the 10-day long Hornbill Festival of Nagaland at Kisama here.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
