Public officials in the N.W.T. are providing an update on the future of a temporary day shelter in Yellowknife at 1 p.m. today.

City council recently knocked down the territorial government's pitch to turn 4709 Franklin Ave. into such a facility for three years.
The announcement is coming from Health Minister Julie Green, Municipal and Community Affairs Minister Shane Thompson and Mayor Rebecca Alty. Sara Chorostkowski, who is the director of mental wellness and addictions recovery at the territory's department of health and social services and Perry Heath, the department's director of infrastructure planning, are also attending.
