Six London teens are each facing multiple charges following a break-and-enter spree at homes in the city's southwest end early Sunday, police said.
The youngest of the group is just 13 years old.
Police say they received several calls between midnight and 4:30 a.m. from residents about people kicking in and damaging front doors and causing other property damage.
In one incident, police say a homeowner awoke to the sound of his door being damaged around 1:15 a.m. He then followed a white vehicle he saw the suspects leave in.
The man approached the vehicle a short distance later, and police allege the suspects brandished what later turned out to be a rifle-style airsoft gun and a handgun-style BB gun and opened fire on him and his vehicle. The man was not physically hurt.
Suspect descriptions emerged with the help of surveillance camera video, and police say they located the suspect vehicle around 5 a.m. near St. Lawrence Boulevard and Hillsborough Road, near an attempted break-in.
Three suspects ran off, but were later arrested, while another three were taken into custody without issue, police said. Police say the airsoft gun and BB gun were found inside the vehicle.
Six boys aged 13 to 17 face five counts each of break and enter with intent and attempted break and enter. Their identities cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
They also face one count each of disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence, pointing a firearm, discharging an air gun with intent to endanger life, and using an imitation firearm to commit an indictable offence.
Four have been released with an April 13 court date, while two are in custody and scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, police said.
A police spokesperson told CBC News the investigation is ongoing.
