N.B. COVID-19 roundup: Province holds update after active cases surpass 1,000 for first time

The province is providing an update on COVID-19, after the number of active cases surpassed 1,000 for the first time Monday.
Health Minister Dorothy Shephard and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Jennifer Russell are participating in the 2:30 p.m. news conference.

New Brunswick reported another death and 98 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, pushing the death toll to 75 and active case count to 1,037.
Fifty-six people are in hospital due to the coronavirus, 20 of whom are in intensive care. One person under the age of 19 is among those hospitalized.
As of Monday, 81.5 per cent of New Brunswickers age 12 and older are fully vaccinated, while 90.7 per cent have received their first dose.
New Brunswick has had 5,258 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began, with 4,145 recoveries so far.
