The Resident Association of Juhu, Vile Parle has requested the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to open restaurants in Mumbai on all days. As of now, the Maharashtra government has allowed restaurants to remain open only till 4 pm on weekdays, while they remain closed on weekends in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. In a letter to BMC commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, the Juhu Vile Parle Development Co-operative housing association has also raised concerns over people eating at roadside food stalls and eateries and demanded to open licensed restaurants so that people can sit and eat in a "proper environment". A photo of a roadside food stall where people can be standing in a queue o have a meal was also attached with the letter. Paramjit Singh Ghai, president of the association, said, "Let's have one set of rules for all. Licensed eateries should be allowed to open up with proper Covid-appropriate measures so that residents can sit in peace and in a proper environment without exposing themselves and eating wholesome, hygienic and healthy food rather than roadside unhygienic food which reduces their immunity and makes them susceptible to Covid-19 and viruses."More Related News
