India Today
The IMD said Mumbai and neighbouring Thane, Palghar and Raigad districts will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next three-four days.
Incessant rain continued to batter Mumbai on Thursday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing an 'orange' alert for the city for the next three days. The IMD said Mumbai and neighbouring Thane, Palghar and Raigad districts will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall. An 'orange' alert warning means authorities need to be in a state of total preparedness. In view of the IMD forecast, the NDRF has deployed 15 teams across Maharashtra. "NDRF teams have been mobilised in the districts of Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Palghar and Raigad." Meanwhile, a four-storey building in the Malvani area of Malad West collapsed on Wednesday night, killing 11 people. Maharashtra minister Aslam Shaikh said the collapse happened due to heavy rain in the city.More Related News
