Mumbai Indians star Suryakumar Yadav ruled out of IPL 2022 with muscle strain

IPL 2022: Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out for the rest of the Indian Premier League with a hand injury. He was Mumbai's best batter this seasaon rescuing the team from several opening debacles.

Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2022 with a muscle strain. He had missed the first two matches of the season for MI because he was recovering from a different injury.

Mumbai Indians, in a statement, said "Suryakumar Yadav has sustained a muscle strain on the left fore arm, and has been ruled out for the season. He has been advised rest, in consultation with the BCCI medical team."

Suryakumar Yadav has been one of the few bright sparks for defending champions Mumbai Indians in a horror season. In 8 matches, Suryakumar scored 303 runs including three half-centuries with a best of 68 not out.

Yadav has rescued Mumbai after their openers have consistently failed to give a good start to the team in the IPL. He is considered as one of the most important batsmen in the Mumbai line-up as well as the Indian team, who are scheduled to fly to Australia later this year to play the T20 World Cup.

The right hander recently recovered from a wrist injury which he sustained while playing for the Indian cricket team and was out for the first couple of matches. BCCI will be monitoring Surya's condition with India looking to regain their glory in the ICC tournaments after their group stage exit in the 2021 competition.

Mumbai Indian, five-time champions, are already out of the race for a berth in the playoffs but they still have four matches left this year. They have won their last two matches after losing the first eight.
