Several high-profile Trinamool Congress leaders have defected to the BJP in recent years as the saffron camp went all out to target the Mamata Banerjee regime over corruption, unemployment, and minority appeasement.

From Trinamool Congress (TMC) to BJP, the story of turncoats dominated the 2021 West Bengal assembly election. Speculation is rife that some of these turncoats now want to go back to the TMC which came to power for a third time in West Bengal. Several high-profile Trinamool Congress leaders, apart from thousands of grassroots workers, have defected to the BJP in recent years as the saffron camp went all out to target the Mamata Banerjee regime over corruption, unemployment, lack of development and minority appeasement. However, only a handful of turncoats tasted some success in the BJP.
