MP doctor berated by Congress leader withdraws resignation, gets support from AIIMS RDA

Posted at a state-run hospital in Bhopal, Dr Yogendra Shrivastava has withdrawn his resignation after Madhya Pradhesh government assured action against the Congress MLA and his supporters who yelled at the doctor over the death of a patient.

Dr Yogendra Shrivastava has withdrawn his resignation, Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Prabhuram Choudhary told the media on Sunday. The senior doctor at Bhopal's JP Hospital had resigned after Congress MLA PC Sharma allegedly misbehaved with him following the death of a patient who was critically ill. The MP Health Minister went on to say that he spoke to Dr Yogendra Shrivastava and told him that the state desperately needs doctors at this time. In a letter to Dr Yogendra Shrivastava, the Resident Doctors Association (RDA) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi condemned the incident.
