Mickey Arthur to step down as Sri Lanka head coach after Test series vs West Indies

Mickey Arthur, who has been in charge of Sri Lanka cricket team since February 2020, will quit the role of head coach after their 2-Test series against West Indies in November-December.
Sri Lanka head coach Mickey Arthur on Wednesday confirmed he will quit his role after the home Test series against the West Indies in November. Arthur will join the county championships side Derbyshire as its Head of Cricket following his final series as in charge of the Sri Lanka cricket team.
Mickey Arthur joined Sri Lanka as their head coach in February 2020 and oversaw the team's preparations for the T20 World Cup. Despite ordinary performances in the lead up to the showpiece event, Sri Lanka impressed with quite a few youngsters stepping up in the UAE. The likes of Charith Asalanka, Mahesh Theekshana and Wanidu Hasaranga shone with their showings at the T20 World Cup where Sri Lanka progressed to Super 12 from Round 1 before making an early exit.
