“It’s the apocalypse,” the former first lady said while shedding light on the rumors.
Michelle Obama is once again clearing the air over ongoing rumors that there’s trouble in paradise in her marriage to Barack Obama.
“The fact that people don’t see me going out on a date with my husband sparks rumors of the end of our marriage,” said the 61-year-old mom of two on Thursday’s episode of NPR’s “Wild Card” podcast. “It’s the apocalypse.”
Michelle and Barack tied the knot back in 1992 and share two daughters — Malia, 26, and Sasha, 24.
While people have continuously speculated over the years that the 30-year-plus marital union between the White House couple was on the fence, the gossip ramped up after Michelle skipped attending former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral and President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January with the ex-commander in chief.
The rumors appeared to escalate due to an InTouch Weekly story published last August that claimed actress Jennifer Aniston was trying to hook up with Barack, Vanity Fair reported. Aniston later publicly denied and debunked the hearsay.
