
Michael Vandell re-elected as chief of Deh Gáh Got’îê First Nation

Michael Vandell has been re-elected as chief of Deh Gáh Got’ı̨ę First Nation in N.W.T., defeating former Dehcho MLA Ronald Bonnetrouge.
Deh Gáh Got’ı̨ę First Nation returning officer Lee Thom confirmed the result to CBC News on Tuesday afternoon.
Vandell has served as chief of Deh Gáh Got’ı̨ę First Nation since 2021.
The First Nation has also elected a new band council.
Thom told CBC News there was a clerical error which delayed those results, but they will be published by the end of day on Tuesday.
