MI vs DC: Rohit Sharma disappointed for not being able to execute plans - I need to take care of the mental aspect

Rohit Sharma scored runs at an average of under 20 in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) and failed to score a single half-century in the tournament.
Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma wasn’t a pleased man after his team failed to qualify for the playoffs in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL). After losing their first eight games, the five-time IPL champions became the first team to be eliminated from the 10-team tournament.
Rohit’s own form hasn’t been the best by any stretch of the imagination. The right-handed batter failed to score a single half-century in the entire tournament. In 14 matches, the veteran scored 268 runs at an average of 19.14 and a strike rate of 120.17 with a top score of 48.
"A lot of things that I wanted to do didn't happen," Sharma was quoted as saying.
The Nagpur-born Rohit clearly said that he needs to focus on his mental health to get back to his very best.
"But this has happened with me earlier as well, so it's not something I am going through for the first time. ... I need to take care of the mental aspect and think about how I can return to form and perform," he stated.
"It was a bit of a disappointing season for us as we couldn't execute our plans at the start of the tournament. In tournaments like the IPL, you have to build that momentum,” Rohit added.
On Saturday, May 21, Rohit and Co finished the IPL 2022 on a grand note after defeating Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC) by five wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Mumbai’s victory also meant that DC crashed out of the championship and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made their way through to the playoffs as the fourth team.
