19-year-old South Africa youngster Dewald Brevis became a fan favourite in the Mumbai Indians team with his batting abilities. Touted to achieve great things in the future, 'Baby AB' said that he could not wait to come back next season in the Indian Premier League.

South Africa youngster Dewald Brevis has become a fan favourite in the Mumbai Indians team after his first campaign in the Indian Premier League. In a season of horrors, MI youngsters like Tilak Verma, Kumar Kartikeya and Brevis himself have shown the ability that they can form the core of the Mumbai team in future.Bought for Rs 3 crores in the Indian Premier League auction, Brevis won hearts of the Mumbai Indians' fans with a massive 113m six in the Indian Premier League.

With some fearless batting on display, Brevis showed what he brings to the table and is touted to be a massive asset in the future of world cricket - just at 19 years of age.

Brevis caught up with Tilak Verma after Mumbai's final game of the season where they defeated Delhi Capitals and said that he grew up idolising AB de Villiers.

"Yes look, you're always growing up idolising him, really watch him on TV or next to the field. Ya, I have met him before a few times, met him at my school, he also attended the same school. So, just to get to know him, he is such a great human being and to learn from him, he gives more pieces of advice and he is really one of the best. Having him as a mentor is special to me," Brevis said.The youngster, known as 'Baby AB' for his style of batting. He raked up a mammoth 506 runs in the recent edition of the tournament, breaking the record of highest number of runs in a single season. The record earlier was held by Shikhar Dhawan.

On the night, Brevis scored a mature 37 off 33 balls to set the base for the win for Mumbai Indians, whose win helped Royal Challengers Bangalore qualify into the playoffs for this season.
