Mets’ Nolan McLean, Clay Holmes added to Team USA’s World Baseball Classic roster
NY Post
Two members of the Mets starting rotation are set to represent the USA in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
Team USA announced Wednesday that Nolan McLean and Clay Holmes have been added to a staff that includes Paul Skenes and Joe Ryan.
McLean’s selection follows a season in which he burst on the scene and emerged as a force atop the Mets’ rotation.
In eight starts for the Mets last season, the right-hander pitched to a 2.06 ERA with 57 strikeouts in 48 innings.
Holmes transitioned from Yankees reliever to the Mets rotation last season and became a reliable starter.
In 33 appearances (31 of which were starts), the right-hander pitched to a 3.53 ERA and amassed a career high with 165 ²/₃ innings pitched.
