A message in a bottle that appears to have been sent from Rhode Island in 2018 was discovered in Portugal last week.
Earlier this month, Christian Santos, 17, was spearfishing in the Azores -- a Portuguese archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean -- when he discovered the plastic bottle floating in the water, The Boston Globe reported. He picked it up and discovered a note inside. Santos’ mother, Molly Santos, posted a picture of the message, written in orange marker, on Facebook last week.
