Melania Trump May Look Like A Chump Thanks To Snub By 1 Key Republican

The absence of a major Republican figure will be the elephant in the room at the first lady’s upcoming White House event.
Here’s hoping Melania Trump is a pro at disassociating by now — because she’s going to need it.
The first lady will host the unveiling of a U.S. Postal Service stamp dedicated to her late predecessor Barbara Bush, wife of the late President George H.W. Bush, this Thursday in the White House’s East Room.
But the event’s most significant invitee — former President George W. Bush — is likely going to skip the event honoring his mother, two unnamed officials told The Washington Post.
Representatives for the former president did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.
There will be a Bush on hand at the unveiling, the Post reports. Dorothy Bush Koch, George W. Bush’s younger sister, is listed as a featured speaker at the event. Alice Yates, chief executive of the George and Barbara Bush Foundation, will also be in attendance.
