Mayor to give update on Calgary water supply situation
CBC
Officials in Calgary say outdoor water restrictions are closer to being relaxed now that water flow has been increased in the feeder main that burst in June.
They say that an additional pump was activated, allowing for an increase in water flow through the pipe while managing the pressure to avoid damage.
The results have been encouraging, and the next goal will be to stabilize the pipe at 70 per cent water flow.
If those efforts go well, the city could move to Stage 2 outdoor water restrictions as early as July 18.

Sarnia City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday morning to respond to social media comments made by Coun. Bill Dennis, who criticized city spending on a new mural by Indigenous artist Kennady Osborne as “virtue signalling by woke politicians” — then made a series of comments in response to a reply from Aamjiwnaang Chief Janelle Nahmabin that some have characterized as unprofessional and aggressive.
