The Georgia congresswoman and one-time Trump loyalist hints at the Republican Party “leaving me.”
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is on a collision course with the Republican Party as she suggested it has abandoned President Donald Trump’s MAGA base.
In an interview with the Daily Mail published on Saturday, the one-time Trump loyalist made clear her frustration with the GOP’s direction.
“I think the Republican Party has turned its back on ‘America First’ and the workers and just regular Americans,” she reportedly said, adding she feared for the party’s drift back to its “neocon” past influenced by the “good ole boys” network.
Greene, who did not criticize Trump but said she was “not afraid” of Speaker Mike Johnson, signaled her unhappiness with continued overseas aid spending, the end of Elon Musk-style federal government cost-cutting and failing to bring down the cost-of-living.
“Like what happened to all those issues?” she said. “You know that I don’t know what the hell happened with the Republican Party. I really don’t.”
