Mangaluru City Corporation accepts 18 applications in TDR adalat

In all, 25 land owners submitted their applications in the transferable development rights (TDR) adalat conducted by Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) for the first time on February 18.

Mayor Premananda Shetty presided over the adalat in the presence of Akshy Sridhar, Commissioner of the corporation.

Of the applications submitted, 18 were accepted in the adalat. They included the applications of 14 land owners who have already handed over their land but have not received TDRs, and four new applications. Of the 14 land owners, 11 applicants have already given deeds of conveyance, the Commissioner said in a release.

It was decided in the adalat that the land owners who have handed over their properties already but have not submitted deeds of conveyance will be notified via the corporation website, wherein they will have 15 days to file their deeds of conveyance. After this, they will be directed to approach the Mangaluru Development Authority (MUDA) to procure their TDRs, Mr. Sridhar said.

The MUDA will be given a proposition by MCC directing to issue TDRs to properties that were handed over prior to the implementation of TDR rules, the release said.

The adalat was held to accelerate the process of granting TDR Development Rights Certificate (DRC) to citizens who handed over their land for the road widening and similar projects.

MUDA Commissioner N. Bhaskar was also present.
