Manchester City top Premier League table as Chelsea slip behind Liverpool after 2-3 defeat at West Ham

Premier League: Chelsea paid the price for a 2-3 defeat at West Ham United as they slipped behind Manchester City and Liverpool on the league table. While City hammered Watford 3-1, Jurgen Klopp’s men defeated Wolves 1-0 after a stoppage time goal from Divock Origi. 

Defending champions Manchester City jumped to the top of the Premier League table after they hammered Watford 3-1 away from home on Saturday. Chelsea paid a heavy price for a shock 3-2 defeat at West Ham United as both City and Liverpool leapfrogged them in what is turning out to be one of the closest title races in the recent history of the Premier League.

Manchester City are on top of the league table with 35 points while Liverpool are a point behind after Divock Origi hit a late winner against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Jurgen Klopp’s men were in danger of slipping behind in the title race as Wolves were resolute in their defence but Mohamed Salah and Origi combined for a stoppage-time winner that broke the hearts of Wolves fans.
