Man lends car to couple on foot for five days to reach Chennai from Coimbatore

Having lost all means of livelihood in the second wave of Covid-19, a couple left for Chennai from Coimbatore on foot. The couple was helped by a man who, on learning of their five-day-long continuous journey on foot, lent his car to help them.

With inter-state travel ban and no transport, a couple who had lost their jobs during the second wave, walked for five days from Coimbatore to Vellore with their one-year-old baby to reach Chennai on foot. While they were crossing Vellore district after five days of walking, Ravishankar, a veterinarian, who was already helping out people living in his neighbourhood, gave the couple Rs 1,000 and asked his driver to drop them in Chennai.
