
Man gets life sentence for stabbing his mother in drunken state in Andhra’s West Godavari

A man in West Godavari received a life sentence for fatally stabbing his mother while intoxicated.
A local court has awarded a life sentence to a 40-year-old man for stabbing his mother to death with a knife in a drunken state in a 2024 case registered in Bhimavaram police division in West Godavari district.
In an official release, West Godavari Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi has stated; “On March 14, Bhimavaram-based court has awarded a life sentence to Namma Ravi for stabbing his mother, Nammi Ramalakshmi (60), at his residence at Toorpupeta village of Palakoderu Mandal in West Godavari district on May 24 in 2024”.
Ms. Ramalakshmi was declared dead while undergoing medical treatment. “The local court has also imposed ₹10,000 fine on the convicted person”, said Mr. Nayeem Asmi.
