Montreal police are investigating a suspicious death in the borough of LaSalle.
They say a 911 call came in at 5 a.m. about a man found lying motionless in an apartment on David Boyer Street near Shevchenko Boulevard in the borough.
Véronique Comtois, spokesperson for Montreal police, says officers found the body of a 48-year-old man with marks of violence.
First responders tried to revive the victim before he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The major crimes unit has taken over the investigation.
It is the 28th homicide on Montreal police territory this year.
