Lord's Test | Watch: Young fan watches Kane Williamson at nets, mimics every shot of New Zealand captain

England vs New Zealand: The Lord's Cricket Ground shared a clip of a young fan getting an opportunity to watch Kane Williamson train from up close.

England is hosting one of the best batters in modern-era Kane Williamson as Ben Stokes's side and New Zealand are featuring in a much-anticipated 3-Test series. Williamson may have failed to trouble the scorers in the first innings of the Test series opener at Lord's on Thursday but he is one of the most-followed stars on the tour.

On Friday, the Lord's Cricket Ground shared a heartwarming video of a young fan getting an opportunity to witness Kane Williamson from up close during a training session at the iconic ground. The young fan, namely Tom, had the opportunity to stand behind the nets as Williamson was facing the BlackCaps bowlers.

Tom was trying to mimic Kane Williamson's shots with a mini bat in his hand. The young fan managed to hit some free-flowing drives as well as Williamson's trademark jab to the third man. Unlike Williamson, who was hitting them through the V, Tom was trying to hit most of them straight past the wicket.

It was not the ideal start for Kane Williamson as the returning New Zealand captain failed in the first innings of the Lord's Test. Williamson faced 22 deliveries but he managed just 2 runs, getting out to debutant England pacer Matty Potts.

New Zealand's top order was blown away on Thursday after Williamson won the toss and opted to bat. James Anderson and Stuart Broad, who returned to the side after being controversially dropped for the tour of West Indies following which their captain Joe Root stepped down.

Anderson removed openers Tom Latham and Will Young while Broad got the big wicket of Devon Conway before Potts ran through the middle-order. With Anderson and Potts taking 4 wickets each, New Zealand were bundled out for 132 in the first innings.

However, New Zealand came up with a strong response with the ball despite a 58-run opening stand between Zak Crawley and Alex Lees - England's new-look opening pair. With former captain Joe Root and newly-appointed captain Ben Stokes failing, England crumbled as they collapsed from 75/1 to head to 116/7 at Stumps on Day 1 wherein 17 wickets fell.
