London police officer facing multiple charges after alleged off-duty domestic violence

A London police officer has been charged with multiple violent offences after alleged off-duty incidents dating back to 2018.
According to the London Police Service, the 44-year-old officer and a woman got into an argument inside a home. During the argument, the officer is alleged to have threatened the woman, physically assaulted her and damaged property in the home.
Police said they won't release the officer's identity because the officer and the woman were involved in a relationship, and the woman's identity could be compromised if the officer's name is released.
The woman went to police headquarters with minor injuries and reported the alleged incident there, along with other alleged past assaults.

The London Police Service says the officer has been with the force for 13 years and is currently suspended with pay.
The officer is not in custody and is scheduled to appear in a London court on Jan. 18, 2023.
Police officials have refused to comment further due to the investigation.
