Fanshawe College said it is working with police in London, Ont., to investigate sexually violent and threatening social media posts.
The college released a statement via Twitter late Wednesday afternoon that said the posts were initiated on the social media platform Discord and spread online.
The statement did not say when the posts were made or exactly what they said.
However, a message sent to Fanshawe Student Union staff on Wednesday said the union was aware of a social media post with "threats to potentially tamper with drinks" in The Out Back Shack student bar and Oasis cafeteria. Both are on campus and operated by the student union.
"Fanshawe College leadership is working with Campus Security Services and the London Police Service to identify the individuals responsible. The posts and users have been removed," Fanshawe tweeted.
The college said it would provide additional security in those areas on campus.

Sarnia City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday morning to respond to social media comments made by Coun. Bill Dennis, who criticized city spending on a new mural by Indigenous artist Kennady Osborne as “virtue signalling by woke politicians” — then made a series of comments in response to a reply from Aamjiwnaang Chief Janelle Nahmabin that some have characterized as unprofessional and aggressive.
