London daycare shut down after breaking 21 rules

A London daycare has had its licence suspended after it failed to meet multiple provincial inspection requirements, including ensuring staff had criminal record checks and providing medical supervision for some children.
Kidorable Child Care Centre, located in the east end of the city, violated 21 requirements, according to a Ministry of Education report that was prepared on Jan. 23.
Staff at Kidorable said doors closed two weeks later, leaving parents with nowhere to turn. The daycare was licensed to accommodate 154 children.
At the time of publication, the daycare's director had not been reached for comment. However, this story will be updated when that occurs.
Inspection compliance is graded from low to critical based on the level of risk posed to a child's health, safety and well-being.
One critical violation was found at Kidorable that involved not implementing an individualized plan for health and medical supervision, according to the report. There were also 12 high-risk violations, including not having enough staff to oversee the number of children in care.
In another instance, the daycare operator had not updated special medical information provided by a parent in a way that was available to all staff.
The same operator also ran a Kidorable Child Care Centre on Trafalgar Street, which closed in June 2022. That location continues to be prohibited from providing childcare, according to the ministry.
