Snoop Dogg popularized the phrase "drop it like it's hot," but the credit for making it a staple in the cultural lexicon should go to Lil Wayne.
A 16-year-old Lil Wayne drops the phrase in "Tha Block is Hot," from his 1999 debut release – the same album on which the slang term "bling-bling" makes an appearance.
Now a five-time Grammy Award winner, the artist also known as "Weezy" is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his seminal "Tha Carter" album series by extending last year's Tha Carter VI North American tour into 2026.
