Leicestershire vs India live streaming: When and where to watch practice match in England live online, on TV

Leicestershire vs India, practice match live streaming: Rohit Sharma and his men will look to get used to the conditions in the warm-up match as they gear up to face a rejuvenated England in the rescheduled 5th Test in Birmingham from July 1.

India will intensify their preparation for the Birmingham Test match against England when they take on county team Leicestershire in a 4-day warm-up match at the Leicestershire Cricket Ground from Thursday, June 23. The practice game gives the Indians an opportunity to get used to the red Dukes ball after a majority of them spent the last two months playing Indian Premier League back home.

Barring Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill, none of the members of the Indian Test side have played red-ball cricket since March, when India hammered Sri Lanka in a 2-Test series at home.

Knowing the tough challenge ahead, Rohit Sharma’s men would want to make the most of the opportunity to fine-tune their skills and get into the groove ahead of the rescheduled 5th Test, starting July 1.

India lead England 2-1 in the 5-Test series, which remained incomplete last year after the 5th Test, scheduled to be played in Manchester in September, was postponed due to Covid-19 scare in the Indian camp. The BCCI and the ECB agreed to reschedule the fifth Test until summer 2022 and the two teams will complete the much-talked-about series in Birmingham.

A win in the final Test will give India their first series win in Tests on English solid in 15 years. But Rahul Dravid & Co. are aware that it’s going to be a different England side this time around.

England are playing a fearless and a more aggressive brand of cricket in Tests, which is evident from the way they have approached their series against world champions New Zealand at home. England, under Ben Stokes’s captaincy and Brendon McCullum’s coaching, have gone on to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-Test series.

More importantly, England will head into the Birmingham Test after having played 3 Tests at home, the last of which starts on Thursday.
