'Keep in your homes': Farooq Abdullah on Centre's tricolour campaign | Watch

A question about the Centre's Tiranga campaign annoyed Farooq Abdullah, who retorted: "Keep it in your homes."

National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah, visibly irked when asked about the Centre’s new campaign “Har Ghar Tiranga (a tricolor in every house)”, retorted in the local language and said: “Keep it in your homes.”

The video, which is now viral on social media, shows the former J&K chief minister being accosted by the media at the Srinagar Market. A calm and patient Abdullah answered questions about the UPA’s presidential candidate, Yashwant Sinha, and said that a press conference would be held after Sinha reaches Kashmir on July 9. He also extended his wishes for the upcoming Bakri Eid.

However, a question about the Tiranga campaign annoyed the veteran politician, who then sat in his car and left.

The BJP, with an eye on the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, announced a host of new activities on Saturday, including the "Har Ghar Tiranga" programme to unify the people of the country, reach out to beneficiaries of government schemes, and to mark the 75 years of India’s independence.

The Union government's campaign calls for hoisting the national flag in every household from August 11 to 17 to mark the 'Amrit Mahotsav' of Indian Independence.
