The White House press secretary's claim about how the president spends his time is being met with disbelief.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt made a new claim about President Donald Trump on Monday that many critics find a little hard to swallow.
“I just want to say to your audience: There’s not a more hardworking president than Donald J. Trump,” she said during a Fox News interview. “I witness it with my own two eyes every day. That man is working around the clock. He hardly ever sleeps.”
Given the president’s propensity to fire off messages on social media in the middle of the night, the sleep claim rings true.
But given the number of hours he spends consuming cable news ― and complaining about it on social media ― and how often he golfs, many of his critics cast doubt on the rest of her statement.
Trump has spent nearly 40 of his first 175 days in office playing golf. The bill for his golf trips ― picked up by taxpayers ― was $26 million by March 29, according to a HuffPost analysis, some of which goes into his own pocket as he golfs at his own resorts.
