
Karnataka students move SC against HC's interim order on hijab row

Karnataka students moved the Supreme Court against the high court's interim order on the ongoing hijab row. The Karnataka High Court had issued an order on Thursday saying students cannot be allowed to wear any piece of clothing that is religious till the matter is pending.
Some students in Karnataka have now approached the Supreme Court against the interim order passed by the high court on the ongoing hijab row. Fresh pleas by Karnataka students will be mentioned before the Supreme Court for an urgent hearing.
On Thursday, the Karnataka High Court heard petitions challenging the state government's ban on students wearing hijabs in colleges. Issuing an interim order, Chief Justice of the high court said colleges in the states can reopen but students cannot be allowed to wear any piece of clothing that is religious till the matter is pending.
