
K.V. Ramana Murthy to be new Whole Time Member of SEBI

K.V. Ramana Murthy appointed as Whole Time Member of SEBI, succeeding Ashwani Bhatia for a three-year term.
Kompella Venkata Ramana Murthy, who is the additional controller general of Defence Accounts, was appointed as a Whole Time Member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) according to the letter by appointments committee reviewed by The Hindu.
Mr. Murthy will succeed Ashwani Bhatia who was in the position before and will serve a three year term in the positions. SEBI had two completion of terms from Anantha Narayan and Mr. Bhatia. The former’s position was also recently filled by Sandip Pradhan.
SEBI now has four WTM s and four part-time members, three of them who are representatives of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Finance and RBI.
